We reveal all the beauty secrets of fruits (seasonal of course!)
Fruits to be beautiful
You may have already noticed that certain foods have the gift of giving you pimples and oily skin. Foods with a high glycaemic index (rich in fast sugars and carbohydrates) are favourable to the overproduction of sebum and the appearance of acne and pimples.
If eating can harm your skin, why can't it do you good? The skin needs water and nutrients, which are mainly provided by what we consume. Fruits are an excellent source of good nutrients for the skin (and for the whole body). Eat or apply, we give you all the fruity tips for healthy glowing skin!
Please note: Always choose organic and untreated fruit, especially if you want to consume it with the skin or apply it on the face.
The Lemon and Grapefruit
Lemon, and more particularly its juice, is very rich in citric acid which has purifying and antiseptic properties. When applied to the skin, it is ideal for regulating excess sebum, fighting against blackheads and pimples and even for erasing the marks left by acne. It is a real ally for oily skin with imperfections.
Lemon juice is also a great natural anti-aging! It is rich in vitamin C, which promotes collagen synthesis to restore elasticity and firmness to the skin.
Vitamin C also has lightening properties to reduce the appearance of dark spots caused by UV rays and skin aging. Lemon also contains flavonoids and tannin, powerful natural antioxidants that help fight wrinkles and fine lines.
And in addition, the lemon reveals the radiance of the complexion, for a radiant glow!
How to use it? Dab the areas to be treated with a cotton pad soaked in lemon juice. Be careful though, lemon juice is very acidic. If you have sensitive skin, test a small area of skin first. Alternatively, you can also dilute the lemon juice in a little water.
It is the star ingredient of many cosmetic products, and for good reason. It has astringent properties, that it tightens the pores and refines the skin texture for a smooth and fresh complexion.
Grapefruit is rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and beta-carotene, which help fight against free radicals, responsible for skin aging.
Like lemon, it is also purifying and sanitizing. It helps fight against skin inflammations, acne pimples and blackheads.
And that's not all: grapefruit is a natural tonic for the hair fibre! If you notice a fall of hair at the changes of season, it is the ideal moment to consume it, without moderation.
Nothing could be easier: a glass of grapefruit juice squeezed in the morning, and you are all set!
Everything is good in the apple!
Its flesh is rich in polyphenol antioxidants, which protect the skin and help fight against the harmful effects of free radicals, to prevent premature aging of the skin.
If you have dry skin, apple seed oil will be your best friend! It contains linoleic acid and vitamins that nourish and revitalize the skin, while strengthening the cell matrix.
Finally, apple vinegar strengthens the hair fibre and makes the hair shine.
As the saying goes: "an apple a day keeps the doctor away!"
Dried fruits are full of resources! The almond is rich in biotin (or vitamin B8), which promotes the synthesis of keratin. Keratin makes up 95% of the hair fibre, but it is also an essential constituent of the nails and the skin.
In addition, the almond is rich in vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant ideal for neutralizing free radicals and fighting against dark circles. Radiant complexion is guaranteed!
And if you find it hard to consume fruit on a daily basis, PRONUTRIWORLD food supplements can help compensate by providing you with the dose of nutrients and vitamins that your body needs.
